Fighting Jobs Is Expensive

That's what four of our county commissioners have learned after spending nearly $143,000 in attorney fees since January in their fight to kill Oregon LNG.

Some in this county would say that it's well worth it. Probably the same people who are convinced that we need to stop cutting down trees..oh wait! That's the four Clatsop County Commissioners too!

I suppose the next big thing will be making sure we stop building too...what? you say the planning commission is gone? Oh yeah...

Is anyone out there interested in dropping this "home rule" thing we've been doing? I'm thinking none of these commissioners could have won a countywide vote.

You've NAILED IT Freel!!!! Huhtala couldn't win a county wide vote to become a port commissioner, but he's making decisions about jobs, of which I don't know if he's ever had one himself. The end justifies the means, at all costs with this cabal of four, a cost we cannot afford in so many ways.

  3. Yeah: Lets start the repeal of “Home Rule Charter” immediately. Put it on the fall ballot and lets get it on.

The costs to this county in legal fees will continue to spiral out of control.

The cutting down of the 4 socialistic old growths need to be done asap.

What about all the money wasted on investigations and attorney fees related into Richard Lee's misconduct as a commissioner? Mr. Freel you didnt seem too concerned about that.

How noble to fight a form of energy, at all cost! Well these Commissioners are far from noble, they are spending the property taxes I bust my back to pay on fighting against jobs, who do these people think they are?
