Worthless Opinions
For a guy who has no serious competition for another term in the beltway David Wu is really playing it safe. Maybe.
His advisers look at the results of the "No Pipelines In Parks Measure" in Clatsop County and then following the Clatsop County Democratic Central Committee playbook on the "proper" interpretation of the voter's will, decides that this means the majority of voters here don't want LNG in the county. Remarkable.
I really thought he was smarter than this.
So did the guys who work for a living around here. They have let Wu know in no uncertain terms that he and his staff really pulled a boner on this one.
As far as Brian Baird is concerned....who cares? I mean really? This congressman isn't even willing to let the consultants and state agencies work out the details before he is willing to say that "It's not enough jobs really..in the long term..and will damage habitat". So who told him that? The congressman really needs to know that the Bradwood investment in habitat for wildlife comes in at 52-million alone which puts it on a par with everything he didn't demand from dam operators and power generators on the Columbia which manage to destroy plenty of fish despite studies they fund that say otherwise. What courage.
My friends, when politicians become involved they have no real perspective and therefore their opinions have little worth. Especially when they have no real power to affect the outcome.
This is a process that requires every "T "be crossed and every "I "properly dotted before a judgement is rendered.

Could it be Mr.Wu is wary of the rhetorical anti LNG wrath trumpeted in colossal headlines at even the filmiest opportunities by the yellow journalists at the Daily Astorian?
