Vote Yes
The people who run Clatsop Community College are doing everything we've asked for. They have been aggressive in finding funding resources and have gained significant support in that process. They have dumped previous plans that didn't pass muster with voters in favor of making improvements on the present main campus in Astoria. They have been open with the public in every step they have taken to date. The redevelopment plan is workable and cohesive.
The new building proposed for the campus will provide much needed improvements and ensure better working conditions and a better learning environment for years to come.
I particularly like the idea of refurbishing the historic buildings on the campus and making improvements in access that will make it easier for disabled students to take better advantage of the facilities.
Some object to the idea of providing better common areas for a college that serves part time students primarily. This is short-sighted thinking. What the college may be today is not necessarily what it will be tomorrow.
This vote is not just about the money.

Sorry: As of now it is about the money. No jobs, unemployment, high taxes, high gas, high home heating costs, high food costs, no retirement funds, stocks have crashed. Sorry I voted no-no-no.
